Quality Control

Quality Control

Quality Governance

Four-stage inspection against an approved physical sample.

Every XHANCO order is produced against a client-approved physical sample and a written specification sheet. Quality is managed by an independent QC department that reports outside production, operating under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 22000 management systems, supported by an in-house laboratory and full batch traceability.

4Inspection stages per order
8Control points checked
ΔE < 1.5Colour tolerance target
100%Batch-coded traceability
Inspection Stages

IQC → IPQC → FQC → OQA.

1. IQC — Incoming Material

No material enters production before it is verified against the approved supplier specification.

  • Paper grammage and moisture content
  • Film gauge, width and tensile properties
  • Ink and adhesive food-contact declarations
  • Supplier batch certificates archived
  • Non-conforming lots quarantined and returned

2. IPQC — In-Process

Operators and roving QC inspectors sample at fixed intervals throughout each run.

  • Colour density measured against the master proof
  • Print registration and text legibility
  • Lamination bond strength and solvent residue
  • Sealing temperature and seal width
  • First-article approval before full run release

3. FQC — Finished Batch

Finished goods are sampled by AQL plan and tested for functional performance.

  • Dimensional check against the approved dieline
  • Seal strength and leakage resistance
  • Load-bearing and drop performance for bags
  • Barcode and QR code scannability
  • Appearance defects graded major / minor

4. OQA — Outgoing Audit

An independent audit before the goods are released to the container.

  • Inner-pack and master-carton counts
  • Shipping marks and label accuracy
  • Carton strength and pallet stability
  • Loading photographs and records
  • Retention samples kept for each batch
The Eight-Point Protocol

What is measured, how it is measured.

Control pointMethodAcceptance basis
Dimensions & formatCalibrated steel rule, calliper and web-width gaugeApproved dieline / specification sheet tolerance
Grammage & thicknessPrecision balance for gsm; micrometer for film gaugeNominal value with agreed tolerance band
Registration accuracyRegistration marks read under magnifier during the runWithin the tolerance stated on the approved proof
Colour consistencySpectrophotometer, ΔE measured against Pantone and physical masterTarget ΔE < 1.5 on primary brand colours
Sealing strengthTensile tester on heat-sealed specimensSeal must not fail below the agreed force value
Leakage & barrierWater and pressure leakage test; barrier structures verified on laminateZero leakage on liquid-bearing formats
Quantity verificationCounting at the packing line, weight cross-check on master cartonsExact declared inner-pack and carton counts
ScannabilityBarcode verifier on printed labels and tagsReadable first-pass for logistics automation
Laboratory

In-house testing capability.

Physical & Mechanical

Tensile and elongation testing, heat-seal strength, peel and bond strength, burst and drop testing on finished bags and cartons.

Colour & Print

Spectrophotometric ΔE measurement, standard light-box viewing, rub and scratch resistance, ink adhesion tape test.

Barrier & Function

Moisture and oxygen barrier verification on laminate structures, seal integrity, coefficient of friction and anti-fog performance.

Safety & Compliance

Food-contact migration and heavy-metal testing arranged with accredited third-party laboratories, with reports issued per material batch.

Inspection Equipment

Foreign-object and metal detection on the line.

X-ray inspection and handheld metal detection run alongside the four-stage QC flow, catching physical contamination that dimensional and colour checks cannot.

X-ray Inspection

Detects metal, glass, stone and other dense foreign bodies inside sealed packs before release.

Handheld Metal Detection

Spot-checks finished goods for metallic contamination at the line and during final audit.

Traceability

Every carton can be traced back to its shift.

01
Material batch recordIncoming supplier batch numbers logged against the production work order.
02
Production batch codingEach run carries a batch code linking date, line, shift and operator.
03
Inspection recordsIQC, IPQC, FQC and OQA records are filed against the same batch code.
04
Retention samplesPhysical retention samples are stored so any later query can be verified against real product.
05
Shipment documentationPacking list, batch list and inspection summary issued with each shipment.
If Something Goes Wrong

Complaint handling commitment.

StepCommitment
AcknowledgementWritten response within one working day of receiving the complaint
InvestigationRetention samples and batch records reviewed; root cause identified and reported
Corrective action8D-style corrective and preventive action plan issued to the customer
ResolutionReplacement, rework or credit agreed according to the contract terms
VerificationEffectiveness of the corrective action verified on the following production batch
